1. Terminal Railway Alabama State Docks Boxcar TASD 77239. The line operates on about 75 miles of track and is a subsidiary of the Alabama State Port Authority located at the Port of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama. 2. Texas and Pacific Railway Boxcar TP 718645. T&P was created by federal charter in 1871 with the purpose of building a southern transcontinental railroad between Marshall, Texas, and San Diego, California. The T&P had a significant foothold in Texas by the mid-1880s. Construction difficulties delayed westward progress, until American financier Jay Gould acquired an interest in the railroad in 1879. The T&P never reached San Diego; instead it met the Southern Pacific at Sierra Blanca, Texas, in 1881. 3. Texas, Oklahoma & Eastern Railroad B-6 Boxcar TOE 3315 in August 1987. TOE is a Class III short-line railroad headquartered in De Queen, Arkansas and operates a 39.8 mile line in Oklahoma from the Arkansas state line (where it interchanges with De Queen and Eastern Railroad, an affiliate with whom it shares its headquarters) to Valliant, Oklahoma (where it interchanges with Kiamichi Railroad). Tex-Mex is a railroad that operates as a subsidiary of the Kansas City Southern Railway in Texas. On January 1, 2005, Kansas City Southern (KCS) took control of the Texas Mexican Railway and the U.S. portion of the Texas-Mexican Railway International Bridge in Laredo, Texas. The railroad is a vital link in KCS's rail network, connecting The KCS and TFM, S.A. de C.V. While Tex-Mex remains a separate legal entity, KCS and Tex-Mex are operated as one railroad.

Many of these smaller road boxcars were commonly seen back in the 1970s-1990s. It's fun to go back and watch tapes of trains from that era - not only the see the wider variety of railroads and the colorful cars, but also to see entire freight trains without any graffiti on them. Date: 05/20/19 11:43 Re: Freight Cars from Little Known Railroads, Part 17 -- Ed Zarfo Author: tomstp The "TP" reefer was really not a T&P car. T&P had this type in the 3500 series car but not with the ART lettering the car shows. This came about by the ending of ART and the MOP had to re-name the car ownership in a paper transacton.
Yes, that might be Con's truck tractor. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/20/19 11:46 by tomstp. Date: 05/24/19 13:02 Re: Freight Cars from Little Known Railroads, Part 17 -- Ed Zarfo Author: Gonut1 Yeah, This series reminds me of Con's "Train Parts" postings.
