When SP Dash-8's roamed the I-5 Corridor

In the mid-1990's these were a common sight coming through Dunsmuir. Here's a westbound leaving the Upton Siding.

These units were ok on flat ground. On a grade over 1 percent the units were plagued with wheel slip. If the rail was the least bit damp or run over a flange oiler same issue. Units suffered from lots of rocking motion at low speeds. Typical GE junk in that era.
