1 and 2. Ed found SOO Line Water Car D826 in Kramer, ND in September 1982.    Obviously a coal tender for a steam locomotive (note the stoker/auger lower center in the second photo to bring the coal forward) and I love the note on the outside, "Lined with Rust Oleum Coating".  Yup, that was a mid-west railroad alright!
