Author: Evan_Werkema You can also just make out the red-painted axle generator on the left truck, mounted between the wheels as it had to be on a truck with plain bearings. By 1978, the company was already well into converting its road pool cabooses to roller bearings, and end-of-axle, belt-driven generators would be part of that package.
