Nostalgia & History > Moonlight Dome in New OrleansDate: 08/25/19 05:36 Moonlight Dome in New Orleans Author: gcm Along with other cars mostly retired and for sale sits the Moonlight Dome (9200) on the far outside track at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal.
Built by Budd in 1948 for the never run C&O Chessie train. It was a 5 roomette, 3 drawing room and 1 bedroom car. It later went to the B&O (1950) , SCL and a short stint on the CN (1966-67). It is privately owned and painted in the B&O Colors it wore when owned by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company.
