Foggy Sharks
Author: RDG630

On several visits to photograph the Delaware  & Hudson Shark Nose units the fog proved to be a challenge. These were the transfer trains between Sayre, Pa and Binghamnton, NY.
First photo by the former LV station in Sayre, Pa
Second rolling west about to duck under the EL west of Barton, NY
Last photo west of Qwego, NY headed west on the former LV next to the EL

The pictures are nicely done and the fog gives a lot of atmosphere, perfect for picturing the Sharks.

Great captures in Susquehanna River fog! I'm guessing these photos were taken in the year or so just prior to Conrail formation as the Lehigh Valley Auburn branch track looks excellent having received its first major rehab in decades. The LV track between Owego and Sayre was ripped up shortly after Conrail formation and of course NS has removed one of the EL mainline tracks as well.

They certainly looked good in that paint scheme.
