Bob Date: 09/10/19 11:21 Re: A GG1 at Union Jct Tower Author: BlackWidow I didn't realize there was a junction there. Was there a divergence between freight lines and passenger lines there?

If I am remembering correctly, the WM line to their Hillen station joined the PRR here to get to Fulton Jct to their tracks west to Hagerstown and beyond. While B&P controlled the Northern Central and Fulton interlockings. I may not be 100% accurate, but that is what I think. Date: 09/10/19 13:17 Re: A GG1 at Union Jct Tower Author: Kemacprr In the PRR days pass traffic from Washington to the west ran backwards from Washington to Baltimore. At Baltimore the G would come off and E units would be placed on the now front of the train so it could access the Northern Central to York and Harrisburg. No wye at Union just a direct SB connection. Freight traffic from Pot Yard used the corridor to Perryville and then the Port road to Harrisburg. --- Ken
