BN Unit Coal Train, Coming and Going

There sure used to be a lot of C-boats and U-boats pulling coal hoppeers.  And there would be a caboose at the end.  Pacific Junction, Iowa, in 1985.

Neat photo. Guess that's an eastbound about to head up the hill towards Glenwood. You could probably hear those U boats for miles.

There is nothing left here anymore and recent flooding has wiped the town almost off the map.
