More Lehigh Valley Questions
Author: MartyBernard

I'm looking for a location, a train name, and other related information.  The caption I have so far is:

Lehigh Valley Railroad steam locomotive 4-6-2 K-6B 2099 with Train 9 location unrecorded on June 1, 1948. Photographed by Donald W. Furler, Furler-22-053-01, © 2017, Center for Railroad Photography and Art

Thank you,

Can't help much but a guess would say somewhere around Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe).  Lehigh Valley's two big trains were the Black Diamond and the Asa Packer.  Most likely one of those.

Train 9 is the westbound Black Diamond. Looks like Coalport, Pa. coming under the CNJ.

I concur with Chris. Just west of Mauch Chunk at Coalport MP124 off the CNJ bridge.

Is that a CNJ track at top left?
