B&O east of Baltimore

A few days ago I posted several images of the B&O from Philly west to the bridge over the Susquehanna.  Today, I'll finish from the river bridge to the east side of Baltimore, MD.

1.  6509 and a SD40 drop a cut of hoppers for interchange with Conrail at Perryville, MD. October 24, 1980.

2. C&O SD40 7529 swinging around the curve at the very west end of the bridge.  February 29, 1976.

3. Going away shot of the train.

4. GP40 4024 splits the classic B&O signals while descending the grade eastward toward the bridge at Havre de Grace, MD. July 1976.

5. An eastbound approaching the station at Aberdeen, Maryland.

6. The GP40-2 is sub-lettered for the Western Maryland.  October 24, 1980.

7.  Following shortly behind the 4364 is the hopper train destined for Perryville.

8.  A better look at the former passenger depot at Aberdeen.  Note the station sign. October 24, 1980.

9. A white-lined classic B&O round top boxcar at Aberdeen, May 1981.

10.  Located on the east side of Baltimore is Bayview Yard.  6486 with a caboose.  August 28, 1976.

11.  6426 at the service area.

12.  The B&O used several small SW-1's around the Baltimore area due to the tight curves leading to numerous industries.

13.  6608 is/was a steam generator equipped Geep.

14. A pair of GP40's work the yard on February 7, 1977.

Aside from getting all those cool photos, glad you snapped a frame for the box car and depot. Trying to picture the Royal Blue streaking down that track.

The SW1 8408 is alive and well as a mainstay of the Wilmington and Western.    Neat set of photos.  Great era.

I enjoyed all the photos along the B&O.  That passenger Geep was sometimes used with the Commuter Trains in operation from Baltimore down to Washington, D.C. at that time.

BTW, the second unit in the last photo is actually a GP38... B&O 4800-4819 were GP38s,
