Nostalgia & History > SP through Chatsworth, CA . . .Date: 11/11/19 21:07 SP through Chatsworth, CA . . . Author: 3rdswitch . . . found this shot the other day while looking through my old B&W negs. Eastbound SP train descending Santa Susanna Pass on SP Coast Line into Chatsworth back in '92, when both SP and freight were still alive on the Coast. Back near the curve is where the unfortunate and tragic head on occured between MetroLink and UP in 2008.

Not to be nit picky, but the Metrolink crash happend on the curve behind your vantage point on the East side of the tunnel. Like I said, in the 80's and early 90's I used to love to hang around there, but ever since the tragedy, there's been a somewhat less welcome feeling to it. Edited 1 time(s).
