End of an era on the Maine Central

It's May 28, 1983 and one of the last MC trains to run over the mountain division through Crawford Notch leaves St Johnsbury, VT.

And yet another photo showing a new location to hang a bell on a RR locomotive--this time right above the engineer's window!  Never seen that one before...

Wow, great catch and photos.  MEC had a great paint scheme in the pre-Guilford days.
