Expo 86, EMD concept model

This EMD large scale model was on display at the US pavilion at Expo 86 in Vancouver.

I don't know if this design ever went beyond the preliminary planning stage. I do know that EMD or GMD went as far as a locomotive design to replace the Bombardier/MLW LRC locomotives which were a costly failure for Via Rail.

I remember seeing it. 

GM predicted that the freight of the future would be completely containers and the only freight cars would be flats.

Not a bad guess.
