Her words were something like, "I don't want to go there. That's where cows die standing up."
Bill Pyper Lacey, Washington Date: 01/20/20 10:43 Re: 6 more depots from 1967 trip Author: MyfordBrowning I would think at one point in time the capital of South Dakota, Pierre, would have had a better depot than this one by the cities only railroad, the Chicago and North Western.

I think that may have been the freight station. Here is how the C&NW passenger station used to look. https://sddigitalarchives.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/photos/id/36663/ Date: 01/21/20 07:52 Re: 6 more depots from 1967 trip Author: ntharalson stevelv Wrote:

The original depot was long gone by this date. A Holiday Inn was on the site of the original depot. The agent/operator worked out of the "new" building. I was living in Pierre at the time. Thanks for posting these photos, Vince. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 01/21/20 14:35 Re: 6 more depots from 1967 trip Author: valmont Thanks for info Nick .....
