I have already ordered the book.  If this is a typical preview I will be very happy in April.

Nice shot!  Thanks for the link to the author's (your) book site.  The link to the video preview has more great shots.

In Aug, 1971, rode the Amtrak GW/JWR to/from Indianapolis through Shelbyville on a round trip vacation with my wife to Newport News.
EB was dark; WB was daylight.  The tracks were really rough then.

If you would like to see Dick Baldwin's fine1950's NYC 16mm films on this line, you might want to get the DVD "Reflections of the New York Central Volume 1". Of course, it has film from other contributors such as John Prophet, Dr. Howard Blackbutn and others, as well.

Here you go! These are from February 12 2017. I may have to look into obtaining that Indiana book as I frequent the the state and try to figure out what was there way before I was.

Amazing that the track and building are still there.  CSX still has at least one customer still in Shelbyville. When I was a kid we used to watch the Riley roar past the Beech Grove yards in the evening  heading for Shelbyville and Cincinnati.  It was double track...speed was at least 70. Those were the days!

I wonder how reliable the mail and package service was on RRs
