I'll take a dozen Author: valmont Didn't know this line-up was at Argentine but as I kept exploring the sprawling Santa Fe property I found this this wide open shot ..... the date was Mar. 18, 1973.

Sorry I couldn't join you, Vince! But I was still in high school, no doubt chasing after my future wife ('75) and MORE future ex-wife ('82 ... ;^).

The first big wave of Santa Fe H12-44 retirements hit in June and July of 1972, and the identifiable units in that line (556, 517, 561) were retired July 13, 1972. I'll take a dozen Author: Roadjob Man, that brings back sad memories of the B&O in Baltimore in 1970-71, when they purged the 24 H 10 and H 12-44s off the property. There would be similar lines at Riverside yard. Never a happy sight, but a great opportunity for a classic shot...nice grab!
