That classic old limestone depot still survives. Some of the older building in town were made of the limestne block too. I tip my hat to the town where I was born. Far enough away from Chicago to be a fairly sleepy town yet close enough to see all the rail traffic headed to the Chcago outlets and eastern railroad connections. Great memories of the GM&O and AT&SF. She has poling pockets on her front is why a ask. If the 883A is lacking a boiler, what powered the lights and heat on the cars?

As to the poling pockets, some railroads were slower than others to get rid of poling pockets. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 02/19/20 21:54 by lnrr1066. They were also one of the last to get new power with poling pockets: GP38's built in 1971!
