There were two docks that serviced Alaskan traffic in Seattle at the time. The dock in West Seattle (BN/SF) that these locomotives were destined for is since no longer in service, in favor of the dock on Harbor Island, serviced by UP Jonathan Fischer West Seattle, WA Edited 4 time(s). Was the Seattle-Alaska Hydro Train service still in operation at that time? I thought they were the ones connected to the UP. Did Seattle-Alaska Hydro Train have any locomotives? Here is a pic of 4015 in service as the last unit in a consist getting ready to head south on a freight out of Fairbanks for Anchorage in June of 2011. Shot from the the train that runs between Anchorage and Fairbanks. Note it has also received the name "Spirit of North Pole".
