Trains and towers part deux! A love affair to remember!
Author: Roadjob

We'll continue our tower/train adventure today, with one more installment tomorrow just to finish off this latest batch of scans. Tomorrow, will be special to me, because of all the towers I was ever in, these three were my absolute favorites. But for today, we'll bounce around a little more.

top...Bowie tower was between Baltimore and DC. Southbound Amtrak was one of over 50 corridor passenger trains back then, and throw in commuter trains and 15-20 PC freights, and this was one great spot.

middle...View from the cab of HB tower at Camden Station in Baltimore. This train has just come west out of the Howard Street tunnel.

bottom...D tower at Grafton West Virginia

Thanks for reminding us of the historical importance and often beauty of railroad towers. Another first-class effort.

I'll second that.  Bill, you certainly got around back then.  Thanks for sharing all your great photos with us as they bring back so many wonderful memories.

That's a great angle at Spruce tower. Your hommage to trains and towers is truly appreciated.

Some very familiar towers.  As a railroad employee for 31 years, I was in a lot of towers, just wish I'd taken more pictures of them like you did.

Nice photo at Joliet UD tower with the diamonds and some Rock Island power that you can actually read the whole name on them.

Totally awesome shots Bill! My fave in this bunch is the one at Day tower. The play of the light and shadows, along with the "squareness" of all the angles, makes it very visually compelling to me. Thanks for sharing!
