Nostalgia & History > F-unit Friday: a GN rainbow

For a thin overcast day there sure is a lot of color happening here! And closer inspection shows us some fairly new Cascade Green back yonder. The magic of home photo-editing has done a great job of enhancing all of that color. But it has also enhanced the scars on the 9728’s right flank. Wonder what happened… Close scrape with a stubborn briar patch? Sunburned skin peeling? Maybe it’s facial acne…

By golly, that BSB scheme  was a good look!

Hated that blue/white.

I feel that Great Northern's Big Sky Blue was one of the best railroad schemes, but it did not look good on its F3s and F7s.

Well, It does ask the ultimate question,  " WHY " ?
