CSX local coming into Point of Rocks (MD)
Author: Pattenburg

A CSX local with Chessie 2040 leading thirteen cars is seen approaching the Point of Rocks (MD) station on June 6, 1992. The heritage of 2040 dates back to December, 1967 when it was GP38 B&O 3840. It would then become CSX 2040, GMTX 2682 and CSX 2040. Chessie's safety slogans, seen on the boxcar off to the right, was always an enjoyable aspect of railfanning for me as I thought they were very well done with their wording and symbols.
