Not Everybody Looks at Scenery
Author: bandob

Comments have been made from time to time on the Passenger Train board about today's travelers at times being engrossed in their electronic devices.

In 1977, this little guy appeared more interested in Batman than the New Mexico scenery outside the window of the dome .

Great shot. I can identify. As a young Santa Fe engineer, until around '88, we ran all Amtrak trains that ran on Santa Fe rails. During this time, I took my ten year old son with me for a cab ride Los Angeles to San Diego on a "San Diegan". Ninety mile an hour running, feet from the Pacific Ocean, he spends most of the trip sitting on the cab floor reading Karate magazines!
