Really brings back good memories.  The Santa Fe really knew how to stack F units together.

Santa Fe was so meticulous about keeping their passenger power clean and beautiful, so why couldn't some employee touching up the silver keep the overspray off the red?  Wouldn't seem too hard with some masking tape or a cardboard mask, would it?

Great shot!! Old Santa Fe Railway LA and Needles based passenger train crews worked between Los Angeles and Needles, CA. LA based engine crews worked to and from Barstow.

The silver on the pilot was touched up before every run. They didn't have time to mask. At least that's their story.
