Nostalgia & History > Warbonnet Wednesday La Junta, Colorado Style?Date: 04/08/20 16:57 Warbonnet Wednesday La Junta, Colorado Style? Author: Zephyr Found these slides in the "Miscellaneous File" and thought they were appropriate for Warbonnet Wednesday. Info on slide states La Junta, early 1960s. From what I can tell, I think the information is correct. Not sure what a lonely F3A would be doing at La Junta, but maybe it was there as a "spare" or maybe used with a steam generator car for the connection up to Denver. Anyway, they all show the Warbonnet style off very nicely. Enjoy!

I had the pleasure to ride the lead engine when it was added in La Junta around 1966. My dad was Asst VP and we were on a trip from Chicago to L.A. on the Biz car Atchison. He surprised me with the cab ride in LaJunta.
