Nostalgia & History > Train time at Frater (ACR)Date: 05/29/20 19:03 Train time at Frater (ACR) Author: EL833 Somewhat of an outpost along the Algoma Central, Frater, Ontario was a neat place. No city or town, no busy roads, and quiet except at train time. Shown is the southbound regular ACR passenger train pulling up to make the station stop. You had to drive a bit on a dirt road to get to the station but there were a few folks that got on here. If I remember one could catch 3 passenger trains here in the span of a couple of hours. While that doesn't sound like much, for a traffic sparse line like the ACR it was the place to be on August 18th, 1982.

Thanks for the photo posting. ALLEN Date: 05/30/20 01:59 Re: Train time at Frater (ACR) Author: OmahaTom This photograph became particularly meaningful to me when I read the date it was taken. August 18th, 1982 is the exact day I was born... at 7:15 AM in Omaha, NE. This was taken the day my life began! Crazy! Thanks for sharing! :)
