"lashups"???????    Do they hold, i.e. "lash", the units together with ropes?

Well jack, here you go AGAIN beating a bleeping dead horse. You know damn well the term "lash-up" has been used all over the place, probably for decades. And you know damn well the RR world is FULL of all sorts of nick names & slangy terminology. Some of it local, some of it national. But YOU don't like it, so YOU just can't stand it. I first heard "lash-up" in 1978, my first year in train service. I heard it over 3 RRs all throughout my career, right up to 2010 when I retired. I STILL hear it amongst fellow rails, retired or not. Are you EVER going to adjust to the fact that the RR world and all of its terminology DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU??? (doubtful...)

Well, believe what you want but, the term "lashup" is a toy train term, generally developed by Lionel. In all my years on the railroad, first as a fan (from the early 1950s), and second in the motive power industry (from 1962) I NEVER heard Professional Railroaders refer to a locomotive consist as a "lashup". It was always a "consist", "MU consist", or "unit make-up". You can continue your keyboard diarrhea all you like.

The Corcoran depot was torn down in August 1995.  I moved to California in May 1995 and planned to shoot the depot on my way up the valley to the Bay Area, but I lost a day in Barstow due to car trouble and had to drive straight up I-5 instead.  By the time I got back to Corcoran later in the year, the depot was gone.  Glad you got it - that's a great angle.

Thanks for the correction Evan. I left CA for AZ in 1993, haven't ever ventured back to Corcoran since. I heard it was 1998, but I am glad to have shot it before it went away.
