The "San Francisco Overland" at Oakland 16Th St 1959

This probably one of my first railroad photo I ever took. My Dad would take me on weekends to the East Bay to take train photos. My Dad was talking to the engineer who knew I was taking this closeup.

My Gawd, it is fantastic.  What clarity, depth and color.  Did you slave away at this in Photoshop to enhance it or did you just have the sense & touch to do it right way back then? That SP logo on the nose, warts and all...perfect.

Love it!  I’m guessing this was prior to summer 1960 as the Overland still had a dome.

Nice shot!  Old SP RR Oakland, CA based passenger train crews worked to and from Sacramento.

Right? I still don't take pix anywhere near this good and I'm in my sixties.
