A typo?  That's kinda the way they pronounce it down here in Texas.

When I was working at the ATSF training center Phil Buckingham, the rules instructor, cracked up while reading the Help Wanted ads in the newspaper over the following:  "Old field workers needed in Texas".  He said he could just imagine some Southerner calling that in to a Yankee clerk.

Too bad they don't teach spelling in school any more.  That sort of thing would never have slipped by back in The Good Old Days™.  Oh, wait...
