Great picture. I always liked the staircases on those tanks. The SP Pipelines lettering is pretty sweet! And look at all those yard tracks.

When I was there in August '85 (just too late for gray commutes) the only other SP tank I'd ever seen was in Ontario, California.

I read a few days ago a report from someone who remebered seeing an SP tank farm up near Concord, CA.

Yea, there was one there— close to where the “Just Trains” hobbyshop is today. Don’t remember proud lettering like the one in Photobob’s beautiful pic, though!
