CR Variety at Enola 1978

On one of my vetures out and about in 1978 I managed these 2 shots of early CR at Enola Pa

Shot 1. CR had a few leased BAR units on the tracks back then. Either GP38's or the GP9's were the ones I saw. The GP38's were painted like the BAR 85 which is mated to CR SD35 6044 here by the coal dock at Enola on Aug 28 1978, but the GP9's were a different story. Saw both the solid blue and the current version of thsoe. Pretty much shot all the 38's on the BAR and most of the GP9's back then.

Shot 2. This is West Fairview Pa, the east end of Enola Yard. DAY Twr sat under the bridge, which is US11/15, with the rest of yard west of that. Here is CR GP35 2252 in PC Blk heads eastwhile CR B23-7 1922 and another of those leased BAR GP38's, the 82 behind it and finally on the extreme right is another EB led by E44 4404. August 14 1978.

Variety was the word then.  Take care all. Ben
