Southern Royal Palm Chattanooga about 1968, an F & an E

This posting has 3 photos of the Southern #3, the Royal Palm at Chattanooga. Slides were taken by Paul Revitt, no dates were given, slides do have info as to location and time. 
  1st pic is Royal Palm waiting to depart at 5:20 pm.
   2nd is #3 leaving Chatanooga, 9 minutes late, for Jacksonville
  3rd is passenger units getting fueled at Chattanooge Station interlocking.

 All 3 slides have a processed date of April 68.

Old Southern Railway Atlanta based passenger train and engine crews worked to and from Chattanooga, TN.

I believe 1968 was the last year for Southern's E6 units.

Nice!  It was still running all the way to Jacksonville?  I believe it was cut later that year to either Rome, Ga or Atlanta.

August 1968 PTT had it running only to Atlanta. When the Tennessee middle part was cut out, Southern briefly ran an Atlanta-Dalton GA stub with a baggage and a coach. Each end had an F-unit because of no turning facilities at Dalton.
