F unit Friday - Santa Fe F7A
Author: gcm

June 75
F7A 263C is at the Santa Fe facility in Ft.Worth at the station.
It was rebuilt into a CF7 (2433) at the Cleburne shops in Nov 77.
Santa Fe traded it in to Amtrak for an SDP40F unit in Sept 84.
Nice bug !

Love both of those shots.  The F7, while filthy and a bit worn, is still a fine looking loco.  The image just reeks of "hard-working Texas railroading".
You must have found something to stand on to get the good angle on that first shot?   Thanks for posting!

#263C is patiently awaiting its fate in the CF7 program.
Suprised AT&SF didn' come up with a program for B Units.
Thanks for the nice photo posting.

These kind of shots and subject matter are ALWAYS welcome!!!  I can never get enough of the old Fs and geeps!

Actually I was in a vestibule of a private car moving over to the turntable to turn the car.
I planned on returning to the F units (to get better shots) after we got back to the station but unfortunately the engines had departed when got back.
Thanks.
