Traveling 59 Years Ago
Author: BNSF-6432

No location is noted on this one, but we see the Chicagoan making a scheduled stop. A small family walks down the platform after either enjoying a ride of preparing for one.

Unique shot.  Location a tough one,  maybe LAUPT?    Also, wondering if any of you Santa Fe historians can provide any info on the car.  If I remember correctly ATSF didn't have a lot of full length dome cars.

Not LAUPT. Those platform awning supports are concrete. The one's in LA are steel.

I think the Chicagoan was an Oklahoma City - KC - Chicago train.  Regarding full-length domes, the Santa Fe had fourteen - more than any other road.

Thanks Dave.  I did not know Santa Fe had that many full domes.  I learn something new almost everyday on TO.
