I never saw much of the Reading, despite starting railfanning in NJ.  Here is one of the very few I have.  The switchers are in King of Prussia, PA, the Alco in Philadelphia, PA. All taken on Feb 17, 1975.

What did the Reading place in the box in front of the cab on the walkway? I've not ever seen that on other road SW's.

That was a watchmans heater. On ky the first group of SW-1500’s were so equipped.
