Nostalgia & History > Switcher Saturday - variousDate: 09/12/20 21:30 Switcher Saturday - various Author: dwatry Shots of switchers from several roadtrips. What I take from these shots is that the 70s were very cloudy!
1. ICG switchers at the former GM&O shops in Bloomington IL in August 1975. One is still in IC black paint. Units look like SW-9s to me. 2. Chicago, West Pullman & Southern SW-7 at Pullman Jct IL on 8/30/77. 3. Maine Central S-4 switching in Bangor ME on 8/23/77. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/12/20 21:53 by dwatry. The ALCO s-2's and S-4's were great switch erngines.

Note the Chicago Short Line off on the right, headed south on the C&WI, oddly with only one engine. During my years of railroading around South Chicago, I always remembered them in action with a pair. |
