C&NW and Milwaukee Meet
Author: CNW8531

C&NW #5087 leads an eastbound stacker by 2nd St. in Clinton, Iowa as Milwaukee Road  #205 south awaits it's turn through the plant.  Photo from August 20th of 1987.  I wish it was still the C&NW and Milwaukee Road through here.

Well by then it was SOO Line. Still a great photo. I was getting ready to go to Iowa Central in Ft. Dodge where I would get my fil of the CCP(remember the saying from one individual we both know stating it was a railroad with broken down geeps) and the CNW ex CGW branch.

Classic shot - CNW left hand running, neat signals, just a really nice train picture.

Yes, top notch slide, excellent scan, clear, good color, in focus, can't be beat.  Well, only if there was some Rock Island in there...

Shows that the man behind the lens knew what he was doing.

Yep both iconic railroads are gone and even the grain elevator with Mr. Peanut on it in the background is also no longer
