Nostalgia & History > Three CR photos from Manville's (NJ) Port Reading JunctionDate: 10/09/20 11:24 Three CR photos from Manville's (NJ) Port Reading Junction Author: Pattenburg Was going through my archives and came across these three images from when the Lehigh Line carried CR's trains past Port Reading Junction in Manville (NJ).
Photo 1: CR 3403 and two unidentified diesels lead a short intermodal of TOFCs west in this undated scene on what seemed to be a foggy morning. That bridge seen in the background is where the LEHL crossed over the Raritan River. The track going off to the left would be the Trenton Line. CR 3403 would become CSX 4452. Photo 2: CR 6832 is the leader for PIOI in this November 1, 1987 as it passes by Port Reading Jct. CR 6832 (EMD SD50) would eventually become NS (PRRX 5476) and has since been retired. Photo 3: CR 6497 heads up URC as it heads west on this November 1, 1987. It would eventually become CSX 8855. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/09/20 11:25 by Pattenburg. |
