My cousin in South Bend knew one of the operators and I was able to go up with him a few times on visits. What a great place to visit back then. Spent lots of time at Arnold Street. Nice look back.

The pistol-grip interlocking machine was massive; I don't recall how many handles but I recall quite a few. I took some photos inside around 1973 and will post some when I get a scanner. The building at right was once the Studebaker factory and I believe is now their museum. |
