Photo 3 shows a ground-throw switch typical of my 1960's experience; the white target included a green lens and as can be seen here by the wire leading upward to the lamp; was electrically lit. The LAJ switch lamps, at least in their two main yards, were all electrically lit; the first in my experience. Their maintenance was first-rate as I don't recall ever seeing one that was not brightly lit. Running an engine there was made easier for this visitor, at least in the hours of darkness. In photo 6, I'm curious why the 2617 was at LAUPT. First occasion I've seen of a LAJ engine beyond their home rails. Possibly a lease matter? Thanks Alan.
