Stored Amtrak cars in St.Louis

A couple more cars that were stored next to the entrance of the closed and abandoned St.Louis Union Station.

(1)
On the left is 3208 Boulder Stream.
Ex-NYC 6 dbl bedroom, buffet lounge car built by Budd in 1949.

On the right is an old one.
5618 was a coach built for the SAL and the Silver Meteor by Budd in 1940.

A little closer on the Boulder Stream.

 Cool photos---reminds me of similar cars that were stored in Michigan City, Indiana around the same time frame.

Looks like these cars fared better than the ones that were stored in Los Angeles in the "Old Mexico" yard.

Interesting photos.  St' Louis was a nice central location for storage.

Here's an interior photo of one of those stream cars from the Amtrak Consist book.  Look at those classic lounge chairs!
I wonder if any of these cars survived?
