Unquestionably an Absolutely Bold Paint Scheme - 1987
Author: krm152

This photo was taken on Sunday, Oct 11, 1987. The Indiana & Ohio had painted their #56 an EMD GP7 ex-C&O #5705 in this absolutely bold red and maroon scheme specifically for powering the tourist train they operated out of Lebanon, OH south to Mason, the location of the my posted photo. #56 still stood out even on this unfortunately dreary day.

You're right, quite a paint scheme on that unit.
Thanks for the image.

For an 80's scheme it's not that bad. I would have made the upper pinstripe come to a V and made the emblem on the nose a touch bigger👍🏻

Looks to be GM&O inspired.

Some additional information, while still owned by the C&O during the 1970's, this unit was leased to the South Shore.
Part of this lease time it was numbered CSS #1502. after return to C&O, it was renumbered back to #5705.

That is a beautiful paint scheme---the 2 shades of red fit perfectly together.

I don't recall seeing that paint scheme before. Great catch.
