SP & SSW GP60's: Hot Rods on the Hill
Author: MacBeau

Back in the early '90s, Beaumont Hill was littered with GP60s working both mainline freights and helper service. The helper in the opening scene sounds like a trumpet player trying to find his lip.

Be of good cheer,

Thanks Mac, great footage!

It sure was funny to see the EMD leasing GP38 in between GP60s and tunnel motors!

Had one of those on the head end of Amtrak 6 one day.  I was amazed at how much louder it was in the cab noise department compared even to an F40.

This is the kind of railroading I like. Using what ever power it takes to get the job done, four and six axle, 3800, 2000, 3000 hp running together, variety really is the spice of life!
Thanks for the video.
