Amtraks San Francisco Zephyr near Martinez

I forgot what year I took this but its the westbound San Francisco Zephyr along the Carquinez Straits just after leaving Martinez. Mt Diablo is in the distance.

Nice one Bob!  I think Amtrak moved the remaining ex-SP domes from the SFZ to the Starlight during winter of 1975-76, so likely your shot was in 1976 or 77.

Consist looks to me like a baggage car, combine coach, 3 coaches, diner, 2 sleepers.

That was my guess, as well.

That's about as short of an off-season SFZ as you're ever going to see.  Just 2 coaches and 2 sleepers.

GUYS...You are looking at the west end of Ozol siding and Ozol yard, There was a board walk on top of a pipe line from east ozol to westOzol and my buddie Ralph Buhr ad my self use to ride on it on our bikes and fly...  The board walk wasn't very wide and why Ralph and I did that and I thinkaboout it now, makes you  wonder how dump we were...From West Ozol to Port Costa there was a well packed path and again, we could fy..We did this on Saturdays when SP steam was champ....
