First unit has gotten it's mini-BN and BN #, second one doesn't look like it has, 3rd one? Lots to see in this shot on the BN @ Parkman WY on 6/28/70. Coal traffic was in it's future ... what's coal traffic on this line these days?

The cattle pens and sock cars in the background make for an even better photo.

Checking wikipedia:
History

The Crow people called the place Awaasúuachiikaxiia, "house that leans," because "the original bar in Parkman had a roof that had one side longer than the other.

So many things to see in that photo, 40 ft boxcars, open autoracks, the code line, the background mountains, the ballast or lack or...

The photographer was probably standing on this bridge.  The road, mountains, even the trees match.

Wonder.  Are there still weeds in the Track?

A wonderful throwback. #75 on the move, just reaching the top of the hill.

CNW Crawford BN routing under prevailing through rates was a condition of the BN merger. CNW began hauling Chrysler autos out the Cowboy line to Crawford, where #75 stopped to pick them up.

Best regards,

Rob L.

That's an incredible photo. Is that line still in use? It looks like it might be on its last legs in this photo.

The stock cars and pens. Wow!

Here is what Parkman Wyoming looked like on October 11, 2015. BNSF 8574-5983-5928 westbound.
