At that time they would give you just enough power to get the train over the road. Had a westbound trailer train from Baltimore to Brunswick, MD power was two GP40s because one just wasn't enough. Got to Point of Rocks (east of Brunswick) way to fast, had to wait because the outbound crew was not on duty yet. Made for a nice quick run and off before 8 hours when they finally moved us up for the crew change. The return trip was almost as good, that was the train that had the lead loco and caboose with the same numbers. The operator at QN tower in DC didn't believe us when she asked for the numbers, told her to look out the window as we went by.
