SP seventies show . . .

.   .   .    in MAY '77, a westbound SP "Hauler" was passing through El Monte, CA.

Back when that location was a team track and a feed mill. Now it's the Metrolink El Monte Station.

The 2nd unit is quite impressive. In all my years on SP’s Western Div., never saw one.

GE U-50, SP had 3 of them and they spent their last several years working the L.A. Basin haulers from L.A. to City of Indusrty and West Colton. My shot at City of Industry from January 1978.-BMT

Geat photo and power consist--no light rail industry switching for this job unless they hang onto enough cars to keep the power out on the main.

I don't think the haulers did any switching. They just moved cars between the main yard in the area and the satellite yards.
