SP SD9s On The Cal-P Mainline - Berkeley 1984

I think this was a Cal P mainline train to Roseville, somewhat rare with solid SD9s in 1984 with all the newer bigger power in service.

Pretty cool!  Is that an Evan's 50' box car with the Special K cereal logo?

Those units would be SD-9Es, Sacramento rebuilds.  Note the Farr air filter boxes behind the cabs.
If you think they look good, try to imagine what four non-turbo 567-16s at full song would sound like.
It brings a tear to my eye....
