What river  or lake is this in Dover, IA?
 

Pend Oreille River in Idaho, not too far from Sandpoint.

Visited a freind who had a nearby shoreline home a few winters ago. Looked out the back window and the wind was blowing chunks of lake ice up onto his backyard.

This was a trip where the E's accompanied the 3985 and we covered a great deal of the UP in the Northwest.
We arrived in Hinkle the 22nd of September where we took 3985 off the excursion train. The E's then pulled the equiptment to Spokane the 23rd.
After a layover day the 24th allowing the Pacific Limited Group to sell more tickets we then headed north toward Bonners Ferry where we turned and returned to Spokane.
The 26th we then returned to Hinkle to mate up with 3985 for the continued trip to Portland. There the E's pulled a round trip to Bend, OR.
On the return trip home we headed north out of Pocatello to Idaho Falls where we again cut off the 3985 and the E's continued on north to Silver Bow and return the next day.
Following that trip we put the 3985 back on and worked our way back to Cheyenne.

Hi Bob-- My father and I were able to take  the round trip between Portland and Bend behind the E-Units (fun trip)-- Also was able to take a short one way trip from Portland to The Dalles behind the entire consist where my day picked me up and then we ran ahead to take this picture (#1) just east of The Dalles.
