Author: njmidland I rode the Atlantic in the Summer of 1975. I was hoping to make a connection from Amtrak (Delaware & Hudson's) Adirondack. However, were were running late due to excessive time clearing Canadian customs. When I made the crew aware of my dilemma, they arranged for the Atlantic to stop somewhere between Montreal West and Windsor Station. The two crews lined up the trains so that I stepped off the vestibule of the Adirondack, onto the ballast for three steps, then onto a waiting stepbox of the Atlantic. The Atlantic crew told me this happened at least twice a week!
