JB Date: 06/14/21 18:22 Re: Monday Meets, SP vs UP East of Bakersfield, May 1988 Author: gonx Sure looks like the former WP at Hearst siding.
I think that's a westbound with WP gypsum hoppers behind the UP power. Date: 06/14/21 18:27 Re: Monday Meets, SP vs UP East of Bakersfield, May 1988 Author: JimBaker If anybody can read the lettering on the Signal Bungalow, we will have the answer.
I kind of like lt to be Hearst, also. --Jim Baker James R.(Jim) Baker Whittier, CA Date: 06/14/21 19:31 Re: Monday Meets, SP vs UP East of Bakersfield, May 1988 Author: jimB I agree - Hearst siding, Pleasanton, CA. The signal bungalow appears turquoise, which is ex WP. This is a very popular NorCal spot in the Bay Area.
Jim B Date: 06/14/21 21:11 Re: Monday Meets, SP vs UP East of Bakersfield, May 1988 Author: FiveChime Could be Hearst on the former WP route after the SP line was abandoned in 1984. Negative was with a series from Techachapi which confused me.
Thanks, Jim Evans Date: 06/15/21 01:20 Re: Monday Meets, SP vs UP East of Bakersfield, May 1988 Author: coach That's Hearst siding, for sure. Around that curve, the tracks cross a bridge. Interstate 680 in the background. WP color shed. Been to this very spot many times.
